A Michelin milestone for the state

The recognition came during the inaugural Michelin Guide American South ceremony held in Greenville in November 2025. Counter- received both a One-Star award and a Michelin Green Star, making it a standout in the guide’s first regional edition.

Only a handful of restaurants received stars, while legendary New Orleans destination Emeril’s earned two. The announcement instantly elevated Charlotte’s reputation as an emerging culinary destination in the region.
