ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained multiple people Wednesday inside the Robertson County General Sessions Courthouse after they appeared in court on traffic violations, WSMV4 Investigates cameras captured.
Eight people pleaded guilty to driving without a license. After being directed to pay fines outside of the courtroom, a woman who appeared to be working with the court escorted those people to a traffic payment window in the hallway.
After those arrangements were made, ICE moved and took several into custody. While two were released, including the mother of a 15-year-old girl who was present with her mother at the courthouse, six individuals were handcuffed and taken by ICE into an empty courtroom.
