Sunnyvale Officers Arrest Two Men Accused of Killing a 24-Year-Old Mother

Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers arrested two men accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Kembery Chirinos-Flores near a home on Vienna Drive on Jan. 7. According to a news release from DPS, officers arrested Alfonso Inestroza, also known as Franquin Inestroza-Martinez of Hollister, and Gerzon Chirinos, also known as Gerzon Chirinos-Munguia of Sunnyvale, on March 5. Officers also recovered a shotgun believed to be the murder weapon.

Both men are accused of shooting Chirinos-Flores inside a vehicle in the area of 1225 Vienna Dr., just a few blocks from the Fair Oaks light rail station. The two men were gone by the time officers arrived. Investigators say Chirinos-Flores died at the scene.

Investigators say there is no ongoing threat to the community following the arrests. In a news conference on March 9, Sunnyvale DPS Chief Dan Pistor called Chirinos-Flores’ death a “tragic” and “senseless act of violence.”…
