FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – After 40 years of service, an Allen County magistrate is planning to retire this year.
Allen Superior Court Probate Magistrate Phillip Houk’s retirement will be effective Aug. 1, 2026. He served as a law clerk, referee, and probate commissioner in the Allen County court system until his appointment as a magistrate in 1995.
During his time in the Allen Superior Court, the magistrate has overseen about 40,000 estate cases and 10,000 guardianship matter, playing a critical role in guiding families through probate and protecting the interests of vulnerable people’s guardianship matters…
