During a recent spring scrimmage, Dabo Swinney did not hold back when discussing a disappointing performance from Clemson’s starting kicker Nolan Hauser. Speaking after practice, the Clemson head coach openly criticized the kicker’s outing. While Swinney is infamous for public rants, this time, he did it for his own athlete. He described it as a “really poor day” and suggested Hauser mentally checked out ahead of spring break.
According to a post by reporter Chapel Fowler, Swinney expressed frustration over multiple missed kicks during the scrimmage. The veteran coach used a blunt metaphor to illustrate his disappointment.
