Lost hiker rescued after two-hour search in Jefferson Memorial Forest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A lost hiker was safely rescued overnight after a two-hour search in Jefferson Memorial Forest, the Fairdale Fire Protection District announced Thursday.

Fire and EMS crews were dispatched around 10 p.m. Wednesday following reports of a lost hiker in the forest. Louisville Metro Police officers and the Louisville Metro Emergency Services Drone Unit were also called to assist.

After searching the area, crews located the hiker around midnight and guided the individual safely out of the woods. EMS evaluated the hiker at the scene…
