Caldwell Barber Spoke to Witnesses But Didn’t Call for Help, Court Records Show

After hitting Sharon Thomas with his car, a Caldwell barber got out and spoke with witnesses gathered nearby — but never called for help. Instead, he drove away and left the 56-year-old mother lying in the roadway, authorities said in court documents.

Authorities say Angelo Lotrecchiano, 82, struck Thomas shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell and fled without calling for medical aid, according to a probable cause affidavit for his arrest obtained by Montclair Local.

While Lotrecchiano was speaking with witnesses and Thomas still lying on the roadway, a second driver ran over her, authorities said in the affidavit…
