Woman held under Aniah’s Law in Escambia Co. murder after victim found to be pregnant

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — According to the Escambia Co. (AL) Sheriff’s Office, on March 6, 2026 at around 6:00 a.m., Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputies and Brewton Police Officers responded to the 3400 block of McGougin Road in reference to a 911 call that was for a gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, 27-year-old Anasty Brown was discovered inside the residence deceased from a gunshot wound. During the investigation, 45-year-old Renotta Renee Seltzer was arrested on one count of murder after confessing to the murder.
