Cedar Rapids micromobility program returns Saturday, electric-assist bikes coming in May

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids’ micromobility program will return this weekend, with electric scooters and bikes once again available across the city and a new type of vehicle expected later this spring.

City officials announced the program will relaunch Saturday, March 14, when Veo bikes and scooters will be placed throughout Cedar Rapids for public use. Service is expected to continue through the end of November, if weather conditions allow.

The program, first launched in 2019, provides residents and visitors with an alternative way to travel using shared electric scooters and bicycles. City leaders say the program helps reduce vehicle trips, lowers emissions and expands transportation options for riders 18 and older…
