Cedar Rapids nonprofit launches therapeutic child care program for young children

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A Cedar Rapids nonprofit is expanding its services with a new program aimed at helping young children who struggle in traditional child care settings.

Tanager held a ribbon cutting Wednesday for its new Bright Foundations Therapeutic Child Care program, designed for children ages 3 to 5 who may face emotional, behavioral or mental health challenges.

The program is located at Tanager’s Estle Center in Cedar Rapids and is meant to support children who may have difficulty staying in traditional classrooms. Staff say the program combines early childhood education with mental health support in a structured, trauma-informed environment…
