Bayou Boogaloo scales back, moves locations for this year’s festival

Bayou Boogaloo, the annual music festival along Bayou St. John, will look different as it marks its 20th anniversary in 2026. Organizers told our partners at NOLA.com that the event is scaling back and moving to new locations because of rising costs and other challenges.

Bayou Boogaloo was created after Hurricane Katrina to raise awareness and support for Bayou St. John and the surrounding neighborhood. Over the years, the festival became known for its semi-aquatic atmosphere with live music along the bayou and people floating in kayaks, homemade boats and inflatable rafts.
