Detectives arrest suspect in unsolved 1993 homicide, Salt Lake City Police say

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) has identified and arrested a homicide suspect 33 years after the crime.

James Wallace Petersen III has been arrested and charged with murder and aggravated sexual assault, both first-degree felonies.

According to a press release from SLCPD, on Feb. 24, 1993, officers responded to a death at 643 South Redwood Road. They entered an apartment and discovered that 35-year-old Theresa Morlock was dead. Detectives located evidence of a struggle…
