JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Between multiple semi truck roll overs and dust storms, the wind impacts started early in Jefferson County. FOX31 got an inside look at how teams are monitoring it all out of an emergency operations center.
“Were documenting the road closures up on I-70,” JSCO Emergency Manager Nathan Whittington said. “Right now, the Highway 93 road closures through the overturned semis with the wind, were in a really high wind danger today.”

Whittington and his team have eyes on the entire county Thursday out of the JSCO Emergency Operations Center. They planned ahead to activate the EOC Wednesday, with forecasts projecting this wind event.
“Jefferson County still is in a stage one fire restriction, so we are still monitoring that and keeping an eye on that,” Whittington said. “But really, today is just a proactive measure of being safe, being vigilant, and just ultimately being prepared.”…
