Eugene officers catch armed suspects in two overnight incidents

EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene Police responded to two separate armed menacing incidents overnight, highlighting the urgency of community safety, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said the first incident occurred at 10:53 p.m. on March 11. Officers were called to the 3600 block of Westward Ho Avenue where a suspect, identified as 25-year-old Desean Lecurtis Lemond Oroy, was reportedly armed with a handgun and intoxicated. Oroy fled in a Chevrolet Malibu but was later stopped by officers. He was taken into custody after becoming hostile and was charged with menacing, unlawful use of weapon, and DUII.

In a second incident at 12:05 a.m. on March 12, officers were called to 110 West Broadway. A man, later identified as 40-year-old David Glen Clark, was reportedly chasing people with a knife. After a standoff involving pepper spray and less lethal options, Clark attempted to flee but was apprehended with the help of K9 Kuill.
