Woodburn’s Mi Latte Café pop-up turns permanent

Behind the counter at Woodburn’s newest cafe, owner Jesana Carrillo measures matcha on a kitchen scale, whisking the vibrant green tea powder as she chats with customers gathered at the bar.

Mi Latte Café, located at 960 N. Pacific Highway, is tucked into the bar space attached to Casa De Caldos, serving up matcha and coffee lattes, flavored energy drinks and other specialty snacks and beverages. What started a few months ago as a pop-up cafe has turned into a permanent business after Carrillo signed a contract to keep the cafe there full-time.

The shop has quickly found its place in Woodburn’s food and drink scene, carving out a niche as the city’s sole locally owned independent coffee shop after the recent closure of Cafe La Onda and the only place in town specializing in matcha beverages…
