The open mic night once held at the Writer’s Block Café continues. After the café closed last December, organizer Neva Reece, who hosted the event there for about a year and a half, wanted to keep it going and preserve the community that had formed. Organic Oasis has since become the new home for the open mic, which recently held its third night at the new location. Reece says the closure was difficult during the period of uncertainty while finding a new space, but it’s been great to see the community come back together.
