The Greene Turtle Reopens Following Repairs From December Crash

The Greene Turtle in Olney has announced that it has officially reopened today, Thursday, March 12, following several months of repairs after a vehicle crashed into the restaurant late last year.

The restaurant, located at 18101 Town Center Drive, was forced to close in December after a driver struck the back of the building, damaging a gas meter and causing an active gas leak. As a precaution, the building was evacuated while Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to secure the scene. HazMat units were called due to the gas leak, and approximately 50 firefighters responded along with the gas company to shut off and secure the gas supply.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but the damage required the restaurant to temporarily close while repairs and safety work were completed.
