Dancing Stars of Columbus aims to raise $550K for Alzheimer’s in 17th year

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) -Local “stars” and their professional dance partners have spent weeks perfecting their routines for Dancing Stars of Columbus, an annual fundraiser benefiting families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

The event, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, was the first of its kind in the country. Similar galas have since launched in other cities across the United States.

“It’s amazing that it’s gone this long,” said Jennifer Cooper, 2026 Gala Chair. “Columbus was actually the first gala to do Dancing Stars. We have a couple other ones throughout the United States that have copied our style, which is awesome.”…
