Wyoming detectives investigate death of 8-month-old infant

WYOMING, Mich. — The Wyoming Police Department is investigating after an eight-month-old infant died Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to a home on Dunbar Avenue SW near 36th Street around 3:05 p.m. after it was reported that the baby was not breathing, police said. The people in the home started CPR while on the phone with dispatch.

Despite those efforts and the efforts of first responders, police said the eight-month-old died at the scene.

The Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine how the baby died. Detectives and the department’s forensic science unit are continuing to investigate the incident…
