PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The pastor of Holy Apostles Parish claims a scammer impersonated him in an email sent to some church members asking for gift cards.
Father William Ledoux said parishioners alerted him on Ash Wednesday after receiving messages that asked for donations in the form of a gift card.
“It says, ‘I need seven Sephora or Target gift cards, $200 value on each … You should get them at the store,’” Ledoux said of the email. “Then it ends by saying, ‘God bless you.’”…
