Jamestown, NY — A St. Patrick’s Day tradition is returning to Chautauqua County as preparations are underway for the 30th annual “Turn the River Green” event in Jamestown.
Crews are preparing to dye the Chadakoin River bright green ahead of the holiday. The event is one of only a handful in the United States where a river is dyed green, and the Chadakoin River is the only river in New York state where the tradition takes place.
