LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A new police report supports what witnesses told the lawyer investigating the death of Tyrah Adams, who was fatally injured by a metro garbage truck on Feb. 12.
Detectives assigned to LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit reviewed footage from three cameras capturing the incident following Adams’ death.
What the video shows
According to the report, the grappler truck began picking up a large pile of trash. The video shows the arm and claw rising before setting the pile back down. The operator then got off the crane, looked at the pile, returned to the driver’s seat and pulled the truck forward.
Moments later, Adams got up from the alley, went to a store and collapsed in the doorway.
911 calls and worker response
The police report says there were only two 911 calls — one from the store clerk and one from a customer. Neither of the two metro garbage workers called 911…
