DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – The City of De Pere is declaring a Snow Emergency as forecasts from the National Weather Service are calling for 12 or more inches of snow over the weekend.
According to a release, the snow emergency is being declared for Saturday night at 11:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Anyone out and about on Saturday night is asked to plan on finding parking in off-street lots.
City officials say a Snow Emergency Declaration prohibits vehicles from parking on city streets during the city streets during the mentioned period of time. The parking ban allows plow crews to complete several rounds of snow removal as needed while dealing with the amount of snow predicted and the likelihood of drifting due to high winds.
