Jackson, Mississippi – Residents across central and northern Mississippi could face a rapid shift from severe storms to freezing temperatures within 24 hours as a strong spring cold front sweeps across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, severe thunderstorms may develop Sunday evening and continue into the overnight hours, particularly across areas near Vicksburg, Greenville, Greenwood and Jackson. The region is under a Level 2 slight risk for severe weather, with storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph.
