In a park in Menomonee Falls, Erika Mork and her father Stephen are being guided down a snowy hill in late January with Erika’s 12-year-old dog, Cinnamon. Erika calls her Cinna. They’ve been together since Cinnamon was 4 months old. Cinnamon is a mixed-breed dog with mostly black and brown fur, and white markings around her eyes and mouth.
Erika and Stephen had Cinnamon’s DNA tested. Stephen said she’s mostly basset hound and beagle.
“You have the silliest little underbite and big floppy ears and big bushy eyebrows. Just the sweetest old lady,” Erika tells Cinna.
The pair shuffled with Cinnamon onto a frozen stretch of the Menomonee River in single-degree weather for a photo shoot. This park was where Erika would walk Cinnamon when she was more mobile…
