Minneapolis, Minnesota – Powerful wind gusts reaching 65 mph are whipping across central Minnesota early Friday, creating blowing snow and dangerous visibility ahead of a major winter storm expected this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. Friday for parts of central Minnesota including Stearns, Kandiyohi, Wright, Meeker, Chippewa, Swift, Pope, Stevens, McLeod, and Renville counties.
