Uncle Bill’s prepares to reopen under new ownership

ST. LOUIS – You can’t solve all the world’s problems over a plate of pancakes; but it’s a delicious endeavor. And the conversation that comes out of that experience—sharing a meal with someone across from you—is memorable.

Many St. Louisans have memories inside Uncle Bill’s Pancake House on South Kingshighway Avenue. After closing 18 months ago, the familiar St. Louis landmark is reopening in the coming days.

“Every walk of life comes in here, socially,” Berto Garcia, co-owner Uncle Bill’s Pancake House, said. “That’s politically, racially, economically, and we just felt like it would be a shame to lose that.”…
