‘He wanted a purpose’; Family member reflects on Deputy Ramirez’s impact

OZARK, Mo. — Ethan Sandoval says he knew his cousin, Christian County Deputy Gabriel Ramirez, was destined to be a public servant.

“I wasn’t surprised when he became a cop because he wanted a purpose. When he had gotten out of the military, he was trying to figure out what he wanted to do. He wanted to be a public servant and wanted to help others, and so he decided to join the sheriff’s office,” Sandoval said.
