Busy Wichita ramp to close for the weekend

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A busy north Wichita ramp is scheduled to close for three days as work continues on the North Junction project.

The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to close the ramp from northbound Interstate 135 to eastbound Kansas Highway 96 at 7 p.m. Friday.

During the closure, crews will be removing the existing pavement and making repairs to the subgrade and drainage before repaving the ramp.

Bridge project in southern Kansas will create 60-mile detour

Traffic will be diverted to exit at the 29th Street/Hydraulic Avenue exit, north on Hydraulic, and back onto K-96 via the Hydraulic on-ramp. Message boards will help direct traffic during the closure.

KDOT said work is anticipated to be completed by Monday at 6 a.m. Drivers are encouraged to allow for extra time if traveling through the area…
