PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A dog that was rescued from a water retention pond in Happy Valley late last month has been successfully adopted, city officials said.
The dog was named Sweetie by her rescuers with the Clackamas Fire District and Happy Valley Police after she was found in two feet of water in the closed-off, manmade pond on February 28.
She was found cold, injured, tired, and frightened of her rescuers to the point where she evaded capture at first.

Happy Valley city officials said Sweetie did not have a microchip or owner tag. After making a public announcement about the dog to see if she had a previous owner, officials turned her over to Clackamas County Dog Services, where she was made available for adoption.
