State officials address severe weather impacts, preparation plans
Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi and emergency management officials provided an update on Thursday, March 12. Mayor Blangiardi was joined by top department directors to discuss preparation plans and current weather conditions brought by the Kona storm.
“I think we’re about to experience, we haven’t seen in a long time, if ever. I just came out of a HIEMA meeting, the conference level, if you will, from the NWS has now moved back to high, and what they’re predicting is really a deluge of rain,” Blangiardi said.
All University of Hawaii campuses, City parks, public and private schools, the Honolulu Zoo and most City offices will be closed on Friday, March 13…
