“Squire WP McGlone says it was just a year ago that his cousin, Henry McGlone, sheriff of Carter county, Kentucky., mysteriously disappeared in Cincinnati. He has not been heard from since.”
The sheriff had taken a prisoner to Frankfort, Kentucky., and was accompanied on the trip by Cal Wilhoit, counsel for the C. & O. They returned to Cincinnati together and were stopping at the Palace hotel when McGlone went out for a walk never to return. It is thought he was robbed and murdered. The Squire also recalls that Saturday was the first anniversary of the killing of James S. Jarvis, a former Portsmouth young man who was run down by a passenger train at Olive Hill. A damage suit against the company growing out of this accident will be tried next…..
