Man sentenced to 20 years for killing Good Samaritan who tried to stop argument in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. — A Suffolk man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to fatally shooting a bystander who tried to intervene in a domestic dispute last year in Norfolk.

Prosecutors said 25-year-old Lamont Charles Whitaker shot and killed 23-year-old Miyett Antwione Little Jr. on the night of January 15, 2025, after Little overheard an argument between Whitaker and his girlfriend outside her apartment on Greenleaf Drive.
