INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis metro police officer has been arrested for battery following an altercation that occurred last month on the city’s north side.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that Taylor Jones, who is a 7-year veteran with the department, has been detained for his alleged role in a physical altercation that was first reported on Feb. 21 when police were called to the 6100 block of North Keystone Avenue.
When police arrived on the scene, they determined that a fight had reportedly occurred between Jones and another adult male inside a nearby business. Jones was off duty at the time of the incident. The incident left Jones and the other male with injuries. The extent of those injuries was not provided by IMPD.
IMPD noted that when responding officers learned that the incident involved an active police officer employed by the department, they turned the case over to IMPD Special Investigations Unit to continue investigating the circumstances…
