Kelly’s Seafood in Northeast Philadelphia Closing After 68 Years

Kelly’s Seafood, a family-run Northeast Philadelphia institution since 1958, announced it will close and put its building up for sale after 68 years in business. The restaurant will remain open at 9362 Old Bustleton Ave. while a sale is finalized, giving customers time to redeem gift certificates.

“We have been honored to serve you and your families,” the Kelly family wrote on social media. “… You stuck by us through some very challenging times, and we thank you for that.”

Twin brothers Brett and Brian Kelly operate the restaurant alongside their sister, who handles administrative and hosting duties, and a nephew who works in the kitchen. The building is roughly 7,300 square feet and is listed at $2.2 million, including the liquor license, equipment, furnishings, and an attached apartment unit…
