San Diego police arrest woman for slashing Starbucks worker

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A woman injured a Starbucks coffee shop employee with a knife and was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and burglary on Thursday, San Diego police said.

The incident happened around noon at the Starbucks located at 7415 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. in Kearny Mesa, according to a news release by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).

The female suspect, identified by police as Jessica Melgar, was reportedly causing a disturbance outside the business while holding a knife and screaming.
