TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police said a driver who led police on a short vehicle chase is in custody after jumping into the Ottawa River on Thursday morning.
Officers attempted to pull over Victor Eames, 21, of Toledo, at about 1:30 a.m. along Detroit and Delaware avenues when Eames fled, according to a police report. Eames then stopped the vehicle near Detroit and Phillips avenues and fled on foot before entering into the Ottawa River.
