ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — Central New Mexico Community College received a generous donation earlier on Thursday. Doctor Charles Becknell donated over 300 books to the school’s library.

The books are all about black history and culture. “We need to preserve the history. Not only in the United States, but in the state of New Mexico. We have a rich history, but it’s scattered, and we need to put it all in one place,” said Civil Rights Activist and Educator Dr. Charles Becknell.
