Emergency crews are searching the Lehigh River after a man fled law enforcement and entered the water.
Around 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance in locating the man following a chase on foot, according to the Nancy Run Fire Department. The search is ongoing as of late Thursday afternoon.
Fire companies deployed divers and water rescue personnel to begin searching the water for the individual, the department said. The incident occurred north of the Coplay-Northampton Bridge.
