Jack’s Oyster House eyes Tuesday reopening after flood

ALBANY — Jack’s Oyster House remains closed after a Thursday flood in its basement forced the Department of Water to shut off a water main serving parts of lower State Street, according to Jack’s and city officials. Repairs and remediation continue at the restaurant on Friday, with a Tuesday reopening planned, said John Hwang, chief operating officer of Jack’s parent company, NeoVista Equities.

The water department announced an “emergency water interruption” along State Street shortly before noon Thursday due to water “rushing internally in the basement” and affecting the basement at the adjacent Hampton Plaza as well.
