Georgia agriculture commissioner says state is now free of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza after recent cases

ATLANTA — Georgia was declared free Friday of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, following confirmed cases earlier in the year in two different counties.

Tyler Harper, the Georgia agriculture commissioner, credited the “tireless efforts of our Georgia Department of Agriculture staff and partners in this response” in preventing any wider spread of HPAI among flocks.
