Dublin teachers reach deal with East Bay school district to end strike

Teachers in Dublin said late Thursday that they had reached a tentative agreement with Dublin Unified School District negotiators to end a four-day strike, with classes expected to resume Monday.

In a statement, the district said the tentative agreement on a new labor contract would allow teachers to return to classrooms Monday. Friday was already scheduled as a non-school day for students.

According to the district, the agreement includes a 2.3% ongoing pay increase retroactive to July 1, 2025. It would also gradually raise the district’s contribution toward health care premiums for single Kaiser coverage, reaching 100% on Jan. 1, 2028.

The tentative contract also would reduce elementary school class sizes – running from 24 for kindergarten to 28 for grades 4-5 — by approximately one to two students each, lower caseloads for some special education staff, add a certificated librarian at Emerald High School and provide elementary counselors at every transitional kindergarten-through-fifth-grade campus through the 2027-28 school year, the district said…
