STUART – A majority of the City Commission selected its top candidate for city manager, along with an alternate choice, during the March 9 meeting after interviewing 13 finalists over two days. The search follows the firing of former City Manager Michael by a previous commission majority last fall without cause.
The majority voted to begin contract negotiations with LaGuardia Airport Deputy General Manager Michael Giardino for the position and to keep former Homewood, Ala. City Manager Glen Adams in line as its second top choice, with both Commissioners Laura Giobbi and Campbell Rich dissenting for different reasons.
