STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Parks Department is inviting residents to share their ideas for upgrades at a Rosebank park.
Kaltenmeier Playground, which sits at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Anderson Street, is one of 10 parks across the five boroughs that are set to be reconstructed, Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced last week.
The community space, which has been run by Parks for almost a century, is named in honor of Reinhard E. Kaltenmeier, who lived in the area and was a prominent Staten Island politician and sheriff in the 1920s and 30s…
