ICON unveils Titan: Austin’s new 3D‑printed home robot promising $20/sqft walls

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The future of 3D printed homes is closer than you think. Austin-based ICON announced on Wednesday that it will begin selling its 3D-printing technology to construction companies and builders.

The system, called Titan, is a “multi-story robotic construction system designed to build at lower cost and with greater speed and quality,” according to a press release.

“After nearly a decade of research, development, and field operations, we believe it’s time to put these technologies directly into the hands of other builders,” said Jason Ballard, Co-Founder and CEO of ICON in the release.
