Cajun Beignet to Bring Sweet and Savory Beignets to French Quarter

A Cajun breakfast spot, Cajun Beignet, is opening in the French Quarter, according to a liquor license application. The upcoming restaurant will open in the former Evangeline Restaurant space on 329 Decatur St.

Cajun Beignet will serve 15 sweet and savory breakfast beignets, flakey and golden brown. While you may have had a sweet beignet, something akin to the creme brûlée or Dubai chocolate beignets offered at Cajun Beignet, savory beignets may be a first for you. Some options will include Nashville chicken and crawfish étouffée beignets.

“I believe there aren’t many savory beignet restaurants in the city,” says Cajun Beignet owner Sean Rhim. “We are proud of serving locals and visitors with our unique styles of beignets.” Diners can also choose from a handful of Cajun dishes and yakameins.
