On March 11, 2026, Elmhurst Police arrested two men after a stolen silver Honda CRV fled from multiple police departments. The vehicle, stolen in Chicago, was seen driving north on York Street at Vallette Street and later east on St. Charles Road. Officers used a tire deflation device as it entered the ramp for eastbound I-290. The vehicle stopped near Second Avenue and Harvard Avenue in Maywood after fleeing.
Two suspects, Abdulhafedh H. Abdulhafedh of Aurora and Wenzel C. Draper of Chicago, were taken into custody and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and stolen license plates.
