OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Marie Bucchino has been volunteering at Bergan Mercy Hospital for 58 years.
Bucchino began her service in the emergency department before moving to the hospital’s gift shop, where she has worked the register and traveled to market to hand-pick items for the shelves.
“I started out in emergency. I wanted to do something — to give something,” Bucchino said.
‘No stranger to her’
Over the years, Bucchino has also served as auxiliary board president and accumulated thousands of volunteer hours. She continues to assist with special projects and event planning for the gift shop…
