Wonders of Wildlife brings mermaids to visit Mercy Children’s Hospital

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — During a limited Wonders of Wildlife (WOW) event, a few kids were surprised with a visit from some land-dwelling mermaids.

On March 11, kids in the care of Mercy Children’s Hospital were surprised with a special guest, Mermaid Citrine. She spent time singing, telling stories, answering questions and taking photos with the patients and their parents.

“Here at Wonders of Wildlife, our mission is to educate the next generation about the importance of the great outdoors and conservation, and we want to ensure that experience is accessible to children of all ages and abilities,” said Misty Mitchell, director of education and conservation at the Johnny Morris Conservation Foundation, in a press release. “Being able to brighten these children’s day while sharing our mission is what Wonders of Wildlife is all about.”
