AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Richmond County teacher Chef Kanesha Roberts has been named a Top 10 Finalist for the 2027 Georgia Teacher of the Year.
The announcement was made Friday during a surprise presentation by State Superintendent Richard Woods.
“I’m so overwhelmed and incredibly surprised right now,” said Roberts, who is a culinary arts teacher at George P. Butler Comprehensive High School, on receiving the honor. “It is a privilege to serve this school system and these children every day. To be recognized as a Top 10 finalist for the state is an honor I share with my entire Butler High family.”
In addition to her culinary curriculum, she serves as a mentor, senior advisor, and homecoming coordinator, ensuring her students are prepared for both the kitchen and the world…
